OfferUp released its 2023 Recommerce Report, available now at www.RecommerceReport.com. The fifth annual report, published in partnership with data analytics firm GlobalData, reveals that 85% of shoppers now buy and/or sell secondhand goods — an increase of 3% from 2022. Furthermore, 27% of respondents ventured into the secondhand market for the first time within the last year.

Rishi Padhi, former vice president and general manager of e-commerce at Kellogg, joined OfferUp as vice president and head of marketing.
Digital marketplace OfferUp has named Melissa Binde as the company's chief technology officer. Binde joins OfferUp from the San Francisco-based data platform Splunk, where she spent over two years and was vice president of cloud engineering, according to her LinkedIn profile. OfferUp said in a release she will lead the marketplace's engineering and data science divisions, as well as investments to improve user experience.
The popular mobile marketplace hired former Booking.com managing director Todd Dunlap to lead the company, one of the Seattle region’s only tech startups valued at more than $1 billion. OfferUp co-founder and former CEO Nick Huzar will remain at the company as its new chief product officer.
