Impossible Metals chief executive Oliver Gunasekara told the Financial Times that Bahrain had backed its application to the ISA to explore a mosaic of areas totalling 75,000 sq km. The company aims to eventually process the minerals in a hub in the Middle East, from which “metals could eventually be exported to the US”, he said.
Deep sea mining startup Impossible Metals plans to start raising over $1 billion later this year as it's moving into "growth mode," chief growth officer Mike Regan tells Axios Pro.
